Tell us about your business.
Latinx Talk Therapy provides mental health services for Latinx in Illinois. Our therapists are fluent in Español and provide in-office and virtual therapy as well as conduct psychological immigration evaluations.
What did you set out to do? How has it evolved?
My goal was to create a clinic that focused on helping destigmatize mental health in the Latinx community and helping individuals overcome psychological barriers.
How are you scaling up?
Scaling the company has involved creating streamlined processes and policies that support growth.
How are you finding success?
I found purpose in empowering the Latinx community. That belief has shaped our company mission and established our niche.
What struggles have you encountered?
When I started the group two years ago, I had no start-up money, partners, or basic understanding of business. There has been a huge learning curve for me in understanding how to build a profitable company that is impact based.
What’s one critical thing that you think every small business owner needs to know?
There will be moments of uncertainty and disappointment. During those times it is important to be clear on your purpose and surround yourself with things that fuel your determination.
